Greetings from Redding

Shasta Lodge just held our annual two night Crab Feed. We sold out quickly for both nights and served 470 plus meals. Our Chairs Paul Monette and Jim Nobili did their usual outstanding job putting together this large event. And thanks to all our members and friends who stepped up to help.

We welcomed State Vice President Louie Lodi, our State Deputy John Jefsen and his lovely wife Lorna, and President of the Vincenzo Bellini Lodge of Chico,Tony George, and many more members of the Chico Lodge. The Redding Grange ran multiple Super Bowl pools and put a nice sum into our mutual “Raise the Roof Fund” so we will be able to complete the re-roofing of our building this summer.

Next up?? A few weeks to recuperate after four events in just over three weeks. Then on April 7th the Redding Grange will have their annual fundraiser to raise money for their scholarship fund. Most of the Grange members are also Sons and Daughters of Italy members so we will be back to work again.

Then on May 4th we will hold our late 44th Anniversary Party. It will be Kentucky Derby day, so we will have a fun “Derby themed party.” We are hoping to have Foothill High Schools Club Cougar Jazz Ensemble perform for us. There will be more information in the April Il Leone. We hope some of you will plan to join us.

We are getting a lot of much needed rain in Redding, but it is not dampening the spirit of Shasta Lodge’s members. There is always a large crowd at our general meetings, and many people helping with our events. We are grateful for our Lodge Family.
