I am writing this on Valentine’s Day so even though you will read this in March; I hope you are having a lovely day and remembered your favorite Valentine! I cannot believe where the time has gone. Only nine months until Christmas!

Since March is the beginning of Spring, I’d like to notify you that The Grand Lodge needs to be made aware when a lodge is having a special event, so that we can schedule a visit to that Lodge by a State officer. Members have remarked to me about how I’m the first state officer to visit that lodge in quite a while. In talking to many past and current State Officers about this, the response is that “we cannot come to an event
Lots of local lodges are having their annual crab feeds, Sausage and Polenta dinners, or like the Roma lodge #1573, has for the past 56 years, serving their delicious Sausage sandwiches, pasta plates, antipasto salads, meatball sandwiches and a variety of other food items to the 100,000 plus visitors to the World Ag Expo, held February 13th-15th, in Tulare Ca.

Over 50 people attended the St. Helena Lodge’s February 7, 2024, meeting which featured a presentation by Christina Olivolo, who spoke about the experiences of Italian-Americans during WWII. Christina has extensively researched this topic, including reviewing countless FBI files and newspaper articles from that period, conferring with other experts on this topic, and interviewing those who remember this dark chapter in the story of Italians in America.
