OSIACA News
The Sacramento Lodge has been very busy these past several months. In May our lodge members brought in their favorite dishes for a delicious Potluck, and then we played Bingo. Congratulations to our lucky Bingo winners: Mike Alfidi, Jane Arakaki, Sue Botti, Terry Corcoran, and Susan Watson.
In June, Terry Corcoran and Danny Marinelli prepared an excellent dinner of BBQ ribs, beans, vegetables, salads, and dessert. We hosted our two 2025 Scholarship Recipients: Jada Dwyre who graduated from St Francis High School in May 2025. She plans to attend Loyola University Chicago in the Fall to study Anthropology. In high school Jada was a member of National Honors Society and participated in both soccer and track and field all four years of high school. Our second scholarship recipient is Sofia Watson, who completed her freshman year at San Diego State University majoring in Speech Pathology. She is part of the leadership team for the Catholic Newman Center, a member of Talitha Koum (a Catholic women’s sorority), and volunteers at Father Joe’s Village soup kitchen once a month. Congratulations to both Jada and Sophia on each receiving a $1,000 scholarship! We ended the evening playing several games of Bingo. Congratulations to our lucky Bingo winners: Terry Corcoran, Elise Haugh, Dennis Haugh, Dick Hunt, Cris Mititi, and Zsofia Perrone.
July’s dinner of sausage, peppers, and onion sandwiches, summer salads, and dessert was prepared by Susan Watson, Yvonne Vanoni, and Roy Vanoni and was superb! We hosted the baseball team and their families that we sponsored this year, to recognize and congratulate them on their great season this year! The Pirates had 16 wins and 4 losses during the regular season! The team won first place in the Major Division for Rancho Cordova Little League. Great job boys!
For those that missed our August dinner/meeting it was one of our best! We had close to 80 members and guests that enjoyed Jennifer Noble and Mary Webster’s Italian wedding pasta bake, mac & cheese (for the kids), salad, and cupcakes for dessert. Then we finished our evening with a performance from the Bambini Dance Troupe. They did a tremendous job and we will definitely invite them back!
September’s dinner of chicken parmesan, pasta, salad, bread and dessert was prepared by Danny Marinelli and it was great! After our business meeting we played Bingo. Congratulations to our winners: Mike Alfidi, Louie Lodi, Cris Mititi, Zsofia Perrone, Frank Romano, and Mary Webster.
