NORTHERN SOLANO LODGE #2534

It is a beautiful spring day in May which has been a busy month for the Northern Solano Lodge. We began the month on May 1st by drawing 30 lucky winners in our Winner Every Day fundraiser. These lucky winners received a nice surprise in their mailboxes. One lucky winner, believe it or not, won the two biggest prizes in the drawing. I bet he is glad he bought those two tickets.

May has two major holidays. On May 11th we wished all our mothers a very Happy Mother’s Day. Or, as they say in Italy, Buona Festa della Momma. On May 26th we honored our veterans on Memorial Day. Thank you all for your service.

At our monthly meeting our members were introduced to our 2025 scholarship recipients and their families. These talented young people are amazing scholars. Alexyana Hendrix received the Sue Bell Memorial Scholarship, Giovanni D’Ambrosio received the Anselmo Canova Memorial Scholarship and Siena Guerrera received the Rodney F. Neubert Memorial Scholarship. We wish each of our recipients the very best in their future endeavors.

In closing, we must remember the other half of our membership. In June, of course, we celebrate the fathers in our lodge. However, in Italy La Festa del Papa is celebrated earlier in the year on March 19th. Happy Father’s Day to all our dads.
