OSIACA News
For those of you that do not know me, my name is Louie Lodi, newly elected Vice President of the North. I have met many of you at our Annual Conventions, but for those that I have not, I have been a member of OSDIA since 2004 holding almost every Officer’s position in the Sacramento Lodge #1352. I served two posts as State Deputy and the last two years Membership Chair of the North.
Navigating through this Pandemic has been tough, but a famous fellow Italian brother Vince Lombardi once said,” when the going gets tough the tough get going.” Membership has dropped tremendously. Rebuilding our Lodges is of our utmost importance. Attracting new members is the key to growing our Lodges. The key to attracting new members is our OWN MEMBERS!
I would like to share a story about one of our members who has lived two houses down from a gentleman and his wife for over 15 years. The only time he talked to his neighbor was to say a quick hello. A few years ago, the wife passed. The member attended her funeral service to pay his respects. Shortly after the two men became good friends. The OSDIA member asked him to come to a dinner. The next month the neighbor joined the Lodge. For three years he has been a great addition to our Lodge. My point is “Just Ask.” That is all it takes. Oh, by the way, that OSDIA member was me so do not be afraid to “Just Ask”.
I am looking forward to coming to the Lodge dinners in the North to meet all of you.
Ciao for Now
