Eureka Lodge #1274

Eureka Lodge member Ryan Bisio, head coach of the College of the Redwoods basketball team, has been voted state coach of the year for Northern California by the California Community College Men’s Basketball Coaches Association. Bisio calls his coaching style eclectic and for the third season in a row Bisio guided the team to the junior college playoffs.

Bisio is a former recipient of our lodge’s Pinochi Scholarship and played college basketball at Notre Dame in San Mateo and professionally in Europe.

Lodge member Josephine Silva is now a published author of four children’s books.

She attended the Humboldt County author’s festival at Humboldt State University

Library on February 14th and was interviewed by a Lumberjack student newspaper reporter about her “teddy bear” story books. Books can be purchased directly from Josephine (707)443-2896.
