It is with a sad heart that the Anaheim Lodge has lost a long time member. Dora Vorono passed away peacefully with family by her side, and went home to God and her family in heaven on October 31, 2023. Dora (Capparelli) Vorono was born on August 18, 1928, in a small mining town. McComas, West Virginia. She said life was sometimes difficult by they never knew it because
Roma Lodge 1573 held its 85th annual ravioli dinner. After taking a two-year hiatus because of the pandemic, lodge members decided to continue this long held tradition and fundraiser. The picture on the right shows the 25th anniversary of of the dinner back in the 1960’s when attendees got a dinner of ravioli, spaghetti, ½ BBQ chicken, salad, salami, cheese, wine and dancing to a live orchestra until 1 a.m. for only $3.00. It was the social event of the year for the community with over 1,250 people attending. How times have changed.

Shasta Lodge continues to be busy. On November 11th, we held our annual Thanksgiving Memorial dinner. This dinner honors our deceased members, and also Veterans. The dinner is prepared and served by the council members. Thanks to Terri Watson and Charlotte Bailey for helping, too. Following a very nice Memorial Service by our President Jim Nobili and Chaplain Charlotte Bailey, we served about 110 people a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner. What a great

I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving. I traveled to Newberg, Oregon and spent the holiday with daughter Linda. Lovely day eating and watching the Niners and a great 12 days traveling around! Colder than home though!

I played in the Southern California Golf Tournament in Palm Springs on Monday the 13 of November. I was teamed up with our State Financial Secretary David Lavezzari, my son for the first time ever sad to say he is much better than I am, his god father from the Anaheim Lodge Mike Guthrie and my eye doctor Joe Occhipinti.
