Message from the 1st Vice President

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

I hope you have been enjoying your summer and having fun in the sun!

Being an officer on the Grand Council for the Grand Lodge of California has its share of new challenges and duties as the First Vice President. This experience has blessed me with new knowledge, understanding, and love for our Order!

The Grand Council has so many different logistics to balance as we work to move forward in the future of the Grand Lodge of California.

I Thank the Lord, for all the blessings that I have received in forty-five plus years as a member of OSDIA and being connected to my Roots!

One of my duties as First Vice President is writing a Leadership article each month for the IL Leone. This article has helped me in so many ways, and to remember, a leader, listener, respect members, cheerful outlook, open mind. I enjoy sharing my ideas and research on leadership. I have to say my first thought when given this duty was what am I going to write each month!! I would like to think that my article is reaching out to members.
At our Grand Council meeting in June 2022, I asked, to have the October Columbus Day Calendar Raffle once again with a winner

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Our 85th State Grand Convention was very productive and successful with business reported on and approved. State President Barbara Fumosa Wisniewski did a wonderful job running the sessions with a cheerful outlook!

Thank you with appreciation to: Lynn Lawrence Murphy our Convention Coordinator, who did a fantastic job in ensuring everything was in place and on schedule with meals and keeping everyone happy! To Lori Rossi, State Recording Secretary for the preparation before convention. To Ervin,

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
By-Laws: What they are and why we need them!

What are By-laws? By-laws are an outline of the structure of an organization. Alone, they do not make an effective organization, but they are necessary to enable an organization to function properly.
Why do we need By-laws? Members can determine what rules they agree on and abide by while allowing them to make changes as the organization grows. By-laws must be adhered to by the membership and not altered by any officer to fit a specific situation.

With the 2022 State Grand Convention coming up in June, (this month), I encourage all, especially the delegates, to read the current by-laws of our organization so that he/she will be able to make intelligent decisions when voting. There will be amendments to the current by-laws presented

Message from the 1st Vice President

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
With regret I was unable to attend the March Grand Council Meeting due to medical procedures I had done. I am doing much better each day and by the end of May should be back to normal and able to travel!
It is hard to believe our State Grand Convention is next month (June). I am looking forward to attending, in person. It has been a long time coming!
I know this month my fellow officers will be

Dear Members,

While recuperating from medical procedures I had plenty of time to think about membership. In so many ways it is the same form as leadership!

There are numerous ways to show members how we can incorporate kindness and respect to them. We know that attitude can be in different forms. It should always be in the form of kindness and respect. Having the ability
