Message from the 1st Vice President

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

I hope you have been enjoying your summer and having fun in the sun!

Being an officer on the Grand Council for the Grand Lodge of California has its share of new challenges and duties as the First Vice President. This experience has blessed me with new knowledge, understanding, and love for our Order!

The Grand Council has so many different logistics to balance as we work to move forward in the future of the Grand Lodge of California.

I Thank the Lord, for all the blessings that I have received in forty-five plus years as a member of OSDIA and being connected to my Roots!

One of my duties as First Vice President is writing a Leadership article each month for the IL Leone. This article has helped me in so many ways, and to remember, a leader, listener, respect members, cheerful outlook, open mind. I enjoy sharing my ideas and research on leadership. I have to say my first thought when given this duty was what am I going to write each month!! I would like to think that my article is reaching out to members.
At our Grand Council meeting in June 2022, I asked, to have the October Columbus Day Calendar Raffle once again with a winner every day! By now you all have received the tickets sent to you. As per the letter enclosed with the tickets from our State President, Barbara Fumosa Wisniewski, the proceeds from the purchase of the tickets will be deposited into the Grand Lodge of California General Fund. Please make every effort to sell or purchase your tickets. Remember, there’s a winner every day. Winning tickets get put back into the mix for the next day drawing!

Thank you for your continued support of the Grand Lodge of California.

Saturday, August 20, 2022, I attended the 95th Anniversary of the Enrico Caruso Lodge #1463. There were guests from the various lodges and members in attendance with State Officers. State Second Vice President Mark Vaona was there to represent our State President. Honoree for the evening was long time member, Carmaline Giotta, and Membership Honorees; fifty year and forty-year members. Each member received a certificate of appreciation from the lodge and then was asked to speak! It was a special evening hearing comments from the honorees on way they joined the lodge and what being a member of SOI meant to them!

Remember this Date; September 17, 2022, 100th Anniversary of our Mother Lodge,Columbo-Stella Lodge #1149. Hope to see all of you there!!
