Italian American heritage night at the Humboldt Crabs baseball game on June 30th resulted in an exciting Crabs come from behind victory over the NorCal Warriors and a lot of fun for Sons and Daughters of Italy members in attendance.

Summer is here and we are usually pretty quiet at Shasta Lodge. However, plans are in the works for a drive-thru spaghetti dinner as part of our “Raise the Roof” program. The Redding Grange our landlords, and Shasta Lodge, need to put a new roof on the building and the cost is extremely high. During the next year we will be having some fundraisers that will go toward the cost of the new roof. For any of you hunters out there, the Redding Grange is having a gun raffle on August 19th. The tickets are $20 each and there will only be
Memorable…Heartwarming….Amazing….and those are only a few of the adjectives that pertain to the Scholarship Presentation Dinner held on Sunday, June 4, 2023. The evening opened with a Welcome given by Virgilio President Ray Bini. Pledge of Allegiance lead by VP Tony Intintoli. Invocation offered by Past State President John Costa. Past scholarship recipients Melody and Violet Sparks sung an incredible a cappella rendition of the National Anthem. Assisting in serving the spaghetti & meatball dinner were two additional past scholarship recipients Crissy Bini and Cody Tarantino.
This year’s recipients included: Kelly Harms from Benicia High school receiving the Virgilio and Beatrice Portinari scholarship and was handed her certificate by Ray & Pamela Bini. Ava I. Nichols from Dixon’s Chesterton Academy received the Veronica Tarantino
