While Shasta Lodge seems to always be busy we have slowed down a bit since our Crab Feed. On April 5th seven member of our lodge attended a dinner at Win-River Casino sponsored by the Shasta County Veterans Affiliated Council. Our lodge was presented with the President’s Award and also received special recognition from our U.S. House of Representative from California, Doug LaMalfa, our California State Senator, Brian Dahle
The celebration of Eureka Lodge’s 100th anniversary will continue throughout this year with historical displays, lectures and interviews at various museums and on public access television recalling the Italian-American experience in Humboldt County.

Like most lodges, our Crab Dinner was in February when we served the freshest all-you-can-eat crab to a very lively and hungry crowd! It was a fun night with our community.

Over 50 people attended the St. Helena Lodge’s February 7, 2024, meeting which featured a presentation by Christina Olivolo, who spoke about the experiences of Italian-Americans during WWII. Christina has extensively researched this topic, including reviewing countless FBI files and newspaper articles from that period, conferring with other experts on this topic, and interviewing those who remember this dark chapter in the story of Italians in America.
