Shasta Lodge #2453

Greetings from Redding:

Shasta Lodge has had a busy, rainy spring. On April 28th, we held our belated lodge anniversary party. We had a good crowd considering Redding’s Kool April Nites event was in progress. We had a great meal prepared by Chef James and his students from the Enterprise Culinary Club. Our Servers/bussers included three junior members. Our member Pat Karch played dance music with his quartet.

We were joined by Tony George, President of the Chico Vincenzo Bellini Lodge with some other members, and by our State Deputy John Jefsen and his lovely wife Lorna. We also welcomed State Vice President Louie Lodi.

The lodge was very excited to have social member  Chris Whitmore named as our Most Honored Member for 2022. Congratulations Chris.

At our May general meeting, the council guys had a taco bar potluck dinner with many great Mexican dishes. We then welcomed three new members into Shasta Lodge. Dawn Hume is of Italian heritage from her great grandmother and sponsored by Lois Morgan. Michael Cartoscelli’s great grandparents, grandparents, and father were from Basilicata Italy. He is sponsored by John Tasello. And Taryn Giacomelli’s father Mike is of Italian descent. She is sponsored by her uncle Jim Giacomelli. Welcome to Shasta Lodge.

Our bocce leagues will be over by the time you read this. We had lots of new teams this year, and many more groups using the courts. Our three delegates are preparing to attend the Grand Lodge convention this year and playing in the bocce tournament.

We already are beginning to plan for Paesano Days on September 15th and 16th. John Tasello will be chairing the event this year and we are looking forward to great crowds.
