The following is a brief summary of the National Plenary Zoom Meeting conducted by National President Nancy DiFiore Quinn on Saturday, February 13th. The Meeting opened with Prayer by Father Forno, Pledge of Allegiance by President Nancy, the National and Italian Anthems sung by our own Maria Pignati. It was great seeing the faces of so many of our brothers and sisters throughout the country. Even though we could not physically hug, everyone’s warm smiles and greetings conveyed the spirit of fraternity.

Reports were given by President Nancy and the 5 Vice Presidents keeping us up to date as what is happening at the National level. Kudos were extended many times by all as to the competency and commitment of the Office Staff.

The Membership Committee has been busily working with the Technology Committee reaching out to increase membership. While our membership num-bers have dropped some, they have seen a big increase in

Hello all of you...

Here we are still holding our own during this pandemic. I hope you are all well and by now, have at least had their first vaccine injection. There is a brighter light at the end of the tunnel and soon we will be meeting and eating and drinking again.

Our new location is all set to go. When we finally get the OK from the CDC that we can once again congregate, our day, time and place have changed.

We will meet on the Second Sunday Afternoon at 2PM in the Club House of Rancho Grande Modular Home Park at 5099 Snyder Lane, Rohnert Park, CA. It is north of Petaluma and Cotati, one mile east of highway #101 on the Rohnert Park Expressway. After about one mile east bound on the Expressway make a left on Snyder then another left at the traffic light into Rancho Grande across from the Lawrence Jones School. Club House is straight ahead of you. Parking on your left (limited, so car pool with friends if you can). Club House will open at 2PM

For the first time I have had a Roma Lodge member ask if he could pay his $75 dues and have it all go to the Roma Lodge instead of the 25 cents the lodge gets. He no longer wanted to be a member of the state or national organizations. The strength of the Grand Lodge and National organizations comes from the local lodges. It is difficult to justify a member continue their membership when we have not had a meeting since last February- 2020 and it looks as though we may not have another meeting until May or June-2021 and that may be difficult with the COVID pandemic still with us.

When I read the IL Leone our leadership continues to discuss the importance of membership and getting new members into the organization. It is documented that the primary reason anyone joins a particular nonprofit organization is belief in the organization’s mission. If you read the OSDIA Constitution

Hi Brothers and Sisters: I am so sorry to report that I have been lax in getting information about the Hanford Lodge to the Il Leone. After Christmas, I thought I had sent a message, but the Editors of the Il Leone did not print it, so I guess they did not get it!!! So, I am now reporting on our “drive-thru” Christmas Party for our Junior Members, which is a little late to say the least!!!

On December 13,2020, the Junior Members of the Hanford Lodge were treated to Christmas stockings filled with lots of goodies and also a monetary gift from the Lodge.

Over 20 stockings were filled by older Junior Members, Gianna and Giiulia Fernandez, while “elves” Miro and Gio Giacomazzi, along with their Nanna Jackie Giacomazzi and parents, Dino and Julie, welcomed cars driven by parents and grandparents into their driveway to deliver the goodies. Drivers were

As in 2020 our 97th anniversary dinner and celebration usually held in March has been postponed.

Victor Zampatti served as our first Lodge President and John Salizzoni serves as our President now. Eureka Lodge is nearing the 60th anniversary of its hosting of the 1963 California Grand Lodge convention.

Eureka #1274 is the 4th oldest lodge still in existence in California. We are nearing our 100th celebration on March 16th, 2024.

Speaking of one hundred years our member Evo Fanucchi celebrated his 100th birthday on September 22nd 2020. We were not able to celebrate with him due to the pandemic.

Long time owner of Roy’s Restaurant and other properties in Old Town Eureka he has lived through most of the most interesting
