Message from the 3rd Vice President

To My Sisters & Brothers of OSDIA
Well Happy New Year 2022! I think we all are looking forward to it. Maybe we will not have a drought this year and maybe America will realize that Christopher Columbus really was a caring person to his fellow man and maybe Amerigo Vespucci will get more credit along with Garibaldi & Meucci for their achievements that they deserve. Oh my God!! I just woke up and I must have been dreaming!! I think my New Year’s resolution should be to stop watching news on television. I recommend that everyone watch The Sons & Daughters of Italy channel on YouTube TV. I spent about three hours watching it the other day. It made me proud that I was a member of this organization. If you can listen to our National President Bob Bianci talk about how he is tired of the “Columbus Bashing” and how our government is stripping all the great things and accomplishments Italians have achieved. You will also see a lot of our State of California members sharing their love for the Order like Maria Fassio Pignati, Lynn Lawrence Murphy and Arlene Nunziati. I have left out some but please forgive me. Oops! I left out our Professional Putter. I don’t know how she got on National News, but she did!! Actually, we are all very proud of her frozen meatball putting. You will have to watch OSDIA YouTube to see for yourself. …and if you don’t know who I’m talking about it’s our very own State President Barbara Wisniewski. Great Job!

I hope Bocce can start up in March in Northern California. We have some great locations, and I am looking forward for Lodges in the North to come together and play some fun Bocce. I did not have time to visit many Lodges in December, but Northern Solano Lodge put on a fantastic potluck Christmas dinner. As usual the Rossi family put together a wonderful ravioli and pork loin dinner. Frank, Louise, Mark, and Lori great job! Dan Marennelli and company had a wonderful dinner along with the Ugly Sweater Contest and their gift exchange. Congrats to all the Lodges for their superb Christmas Events. Good health and prosperity to you all in 2022! Ciao for now,

Louie Lodi
