Hello from Redding,
We hope 2022 is going well for each of you. Shasta Lodge began the year with a very nice celebration of life for our dear friend Jean Russell. She is certainly missed by all of us. President Jim Nobili appointed Bob Gullixson to council as a trustee to temporarily replace Jean. He also appointed Jim Giacomelli as a temporary orator since Jim Lamanna has not been able to attend meetings for a while.
On January 20th we served a dinner to the Redding Police Explorers. Due to Covid there were fewer Explorers in
Cesare Battisti Lodge #1518 had a wonderful well attended first meeting in 21 months on December 12th at our new location. The rain kept a few people from attending but those that came (70 of you) had a wonderful dinner prepared by our Chef Ed and a good time finally meeting with other members, all vaccinated of course. We are staying with the second Sunday of each month but the time will be 12:30 to 1 PM doors open time with meeting to follow about 1:30 with our meal after that. I hope
Mangia…Mangia…Mangia.
Saturday, December 18th, the Pick Up Dinner featured ravioli topped with Rick Branch’s famous meat sauce and roast beef with gravy. On a cold Winter’s Day, pasta is high on the list of comfort foods. Kudos to our amazing chefs: John Costa, Glen Rushing and Rick Branch. On the Delivery Team---from the kitchen to the car—were Cristina Bini, Taylor Rojas and Donna Branch. President Pamela Bini collected dinner monies and Rick Silveira handled the sale of Ways & Means tickets. Pick Up Dinners
GREETINGS FROM REDDING, December has been a busy month for Shasta Lodge. We started the month with our annual council dinner prepared by Chef James Leedy and his culinary students. What a great group of students. They are preparing for an international culinary competition in April. We then catered two large Christmas parties. We will be hosting the Redding Police Explorers at their annual dinner later in January.
The Crab are here…we have scheduled our annual Crab Feed for February 11th and 12th. We were about 2/3 sold out on the first day
