Over 50 people attended the St. Helena Lodge’s February 7, 2024, meeting which featured a presentation by Christina Olivolo, who spoke about the experiences of Italian-Americans during WWII. Christina has extensively researched this topic, including reviewing countless FBI files and newspaper articles from that period, conferring with other experts on this topic, and interviewing those who remember this dark chapter in the story of Italians in America.

Shasta Lodge just held our annual two night Crab Feed. We sold out quickly for both nights and served 470 plus meals. Our Chairs Paul Monette and Jim Nobili did their usual outstanding job putting together this large event. And thanks to all our members and friends who stepped up to help.

Eureka Lodge’s 100th anniversary dinner celebration is scheduled for March 23rd at the City of Eureka’s Wharfinger Building overlooking Humboldt Bay. The festivities will begin at 5PM and the catered dinner at 5:30PM.
The celebration will continue throughout this year with historical displays, lectures and interviews at various museums and on public access television recalling the Italian-American experience

The Great Italian Festival at the El Dorado Hotel and Casino in October was another great day for us. The Sons and Daughters of Italy had their booth manned mainly by Barbara and Ken Wisniewski. We are hoping everyone had a very happy holiday season – a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year. December was a busy month for Northern Solano Lodge members. On December 7th, our kitchen crew and members cooked and served 140 guests at the Adult Recreation Center Holiday Luncheon. Later in the month, our Lodge members enjoyed a potluck Christmas party in place of our monthly meeting. We truly have many talented cooks! Entertainment was provided by Northern Solano Lodge Member, Riccardo Marracino and a local vocalist Hayley Green.
