Greetings from Virgilio Lodge #1586 in Vallejo.  We thoroughly enjoyed seeing all of you at our Grand Convention in Concord. By the time you read this we will have had our summer barbecue. Pamela and I are looking forward to the Grand Council meeting on the Carnival

Attendance at the 87th Grand Convention was very stimulating. It was nice to be among so many people who are passionate about their Italian heritage. It is true, Italians are the friendliest people in the world. State President Arlene Nunziati went above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome and heard. We were fortunate to have our National President, Michael Polo, attend this year’s convention. He shared with us his vision of what the Sons and Daughters of Italy in America should strive to be.

Happy Summer from Cristoforo Columbo Lodge #1534 in Reno, Nevada.   

In March we installed two new officers Mark Froio as Head Trustee, and Chris Cifelli as Financial Secretary, and continued with our Festa planning for our big event in May.  Every March meeting during the in honor of St Joseph’s Day, we have a wonderful St. Joseph’s Table full of fabulous desserts to share. Italian American heritage night at the Humboldt Crabs baseball game on June 28th resulted in an exciting Crabs game against the Lincoln Potters.

Gina Luzzi organized the heritage night decorations and Italian music and sausage sandwich sales which benefited the Humboldt Crabs baseball team.  We sold a lot of biscotti to benefit our Eureka

We just held our annual Scholarship Dinner and it was a success. We awarded three scholarships to Sean Houston, Angelo Cosentino and Francesca Bruno.  All three students were able to attend the dinner along with their families.  The scholarship process and dinner was managed
