Following a very delicious potluck dinner chaired by President Michael Leoni, the Hanford Lodge honored Miro Giacomazzi, its scholarship recipient, at its May meeting.  Shown are:  Jackie Giacomazzi, Scholarship Chair, Miro Giacomazzi, & President Michael Leoni. All members were “Irish” for our March meeting as we were treated by our Financial Secretary, Vaughan Bassegio, who created a wonderful dinner of corned beef, cabbage with all the trimmings. Members added salads and desserts to complete a very tasty dinner for all to enjoy. The hall was decorated with the St. Patrick’s Day theme by the chairs

I believe we really started out recognizing people that went to extraordinary lengths to help their fellow man, after the events of 9/11. We stood up as a nation, and cheered, and celebrated the firemen and police of New York. And we couldn’t thank them enough for their service, that was beyond exceptional, that day, and subsequent days. And they truly deserved it!

Then came Covid and we as a nation celebrated the doctors, nurses and all those that rose up, despite the perils of dealing
