Yes, I promise I will keep harping on this; what with the Corona Virus keeping us home all the time, there is not much else to worry about except how everyone else is doing. Hope you are well. This past October, our governor has again stolen Columbus Day by declaring it Indigenous Day, even though there are 365 other days of the year on which the honor could have been bestowed. Despite having to cancel all of our events since our February meeting Eureka Lodge #1274 is alive and well!

On October 25th our Lodge held a drive through polenta and chicken dinner in the Elks Lodge parking lot. Although limited to 150 takeouts the event was a sold out success.

Due to covid restrictions the kitchen and drive up crew was limited to a hardworking few: Dave and Donna Olivieri, Ralph and Nancy Giannini,Nick Giannini, Erling Dellabama, Eddie Fornari- Morgan, John Salizzoni, Julie Stagnoli, Rosemary Fitzpatrick, Alisa Luzzi, Bonnie DuMond, and Pam Newby.

Winter is here, our weather has definitely changed, heaters are being turned on,- fireplaces are being lit. All to make ourselves comfy and cozy. And our bills get higher.

This is certainly going to be a rough time, what with the pandemic and the coming flu season. We will have had our Thanksgiving holiday by now and I hope you were able to celebrate with your loved ones.

Hello from Redding:

As I write this Shasta County is in purple tier of Covid restrictions, so we are not having our member meetings, but continue our council meetings to take care of business. We are thankful we have only had a few members who have contracted minor symptoms with the coronavirus.

Our weekly Monday bocce play has been suspended due to the weather. We will resume in the spring.

Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, the Hanford Lodge #1543 has been dark since April. We are keeping our members safe by not having indoor activities or meetings. We will resume our normal life when we feel it is safe to do so.

However in October, we had a successful drive-thru sauce sale, in keeping with all the rules of safety for ourselves and our customers. Following this event, the Hanford Lodge donated 32 quarts of freshly made spaghetti sauce to the Kings County Fire Department. The sauce was distributed to all ten fire stations so that the firemen on each shift were able to enjoy the one-of-a-kind
