Happy Valentine’s Day from Shasta Lodge!

We have been very busy up here with our catered events, including the Redding Police Department Explorers award dinner, the Backcountry Horsemen dinner, along with our annual crab feed! We sold out the tickets for both days of the crab feed by the beginning of January. That might be a record! We are very excited to have a large group from the Vincenzo Bellini Lodge in Chico, our state Vice President Louie Lodi and Londie, President of the Sacramento Lodge Dan Marinellias, well as our Il Leone Editor Anna Graeber!

Some of our council and members also raised over $1500 for the Salvation Army from our bell ringing to end the 2024 holiday season. That program is headed up by our Vice President John DiMatteo.  John rang bells for 8 hour one day at Walmart and raised over $800.  He also heads  the recycle program he started for our lodge back in 2009, which to date has raised almost $14,000. Huge thank you to John for all of the hard work he puts into both of these programs.

We have some new members being initiated in March, and with that being said, we had our installation of officers for the 2025/2026 term at the January meeting. Help us congratulate and welcome our new and returning officers.

  I would like to end by saying that on March 22 we will be celebrating 45 years here at Shasta Lodge #2453.  Here’s to many more!  The theme for our anniversary dinner this year is “Bella Notte” and information is available on our website if you would like to attend and help us celebrate 45 years.  We will also be celebrating our Most Honored Member for 2024.   Hope to see you there!
