OSIACA News
Italian American heritage night at the Humboldt Crabs baseball game on June 30th resulted in an exciting Crabs come from behind victory over the NorCal Warriors and a lot of fun for Sons and Daughters of Italy members in attendance.
Lora and Joel Canzoneri did an excellent job directing our crew of volunteers to decorate the stadium.
Gina Luzzi organized a selection of Italian music to entertain the large crowd. She also arranged for the Crabs to have Peroni beer and Chianti for sale to the Crab fans. We sold a lot of Italian biscotti and merchandise.
The Eureka Lodge’s donation of 240 sausages and buns resulted in a net profit to the Crabs organization of $1440.
Thank you to Bill Chino of Plaza Grill Restaurant for donating the onions and peppers and his staff’s time to chop them up.
Bocce league has started. We play on Wednesdays from 1PM to 3PM at the Redwood Ballfields in Cutten. Call or email Joe Bonino to be put on his reminder list: 707-445-5799 or fjb504@gmail.com.
Reminder: Our next meeting will be on August 22nd at 6PM. And our meeting on September 26th will be a potluck beginning at 5PM.
