The 2021 Northcoast Veteran Stand Down was to be held this year on August 6th at the Eureka Veterans Hall on H Street. Due to the covid resurgence among the unvaccinated in Humboldt County the Stand Down has been canceled for this year.

Thank you to Dave and Donna Olivieri for staying on top of the changing situation with this event and annually organizing this project that recognizes and thanks our veterans for their service to our country.

Former Eureka Lodge member Nick Costanzo passed away in July. Nick and his wife Linda were initiated in October of 1988. They were very hard workers and contributed many hours to the Lodge’s activities.

They built a house in Cottonwood and moved to Shasta County in 1997.

Lora and Joel Canzoneri and Joe Bonino attended Italian heritage night at the Humboldt Crabs baseball game on July 9th. Crabs baseball was founded by Lou Bonomini and Ned Barsuglia in 1945 as the Eureka Paladini Crabs. (Named for their original sponsor the Paladini Fish Company.)

The Crabs defeated the Seals Baseball Club by a score of 16-2.

Eureka Lodge will hold its first in person meeting of 2021 on Tuesday October 26 at 7:00PM in the Pinochi Room at St Bernard Parish Hall.
