Eureka Lodge #1274

Henceforth Eureka Lodge meetings begin at 6PM.

New members Joan and Ron Dawson and Lyn Williams were initiated during the October meeting. Welcome new members!

Sadly our long time member Nelida Mills passed away on October 10th. Born in Italia, moved to Ferndale at the age of six months, she lived in Arcata for 64 years with her husband Ben. She joined our Lodge in 2006. Nel had a very positive personality, always raised the spirits of those around her, and provided many hours of help during our events. She will be missed.

The postponed bocce tournament took place on October 29th. (A beautiful, sunny, and warm day by the way.) Eight two person teams competed. The ultimate champions were Ben Herman and Bob Doerr. Second place were John Salizzoni and Brett Diehl. Thank you Betty Senestraro for acquiring the champion and runner up prizes from our sponsors: Plaza Grill Restaurant and Pierson Hardware.

Do not forget to get on your computer to watch the Carnevale di Venezia celebrations in Italia on February 21st. Next meeting is on February 28th. Meeting begins at 6PM.
