Dearest members:

I joined the Marvelous Marin Lodge of the Sons of Italy in what seems like 50 years ago. Maria Toreson was President and after her, my dear friend Anna Biggio.

The Marin Lodge closed and we merged with the Cesare Battisti Lodge in Petaluma. A few members including Anna Biggio drove many miles north from Marin to Petaluma.

Happy years passed and little did I know I would one day be holding the gavel at this Lodge that was established in 1929.

A year or so passed and when Ann Albertoni left her position as President, I was chosen to follow her. It was not easy for me but I learned to handle it. I had a lot of support and must admit, I’m enjoying it.

Again, little did we know that this pandemic would hit us so hard. It has been over one year since we had a dinner/ meeting and now finally, it looks like we just might be able to start getting together again soon. I am hoping that all or most of you have received the Covid vaccine as I have. Out new meeting hall is waiting for us and changing the time from Thursday nights to Sunday afternoons has been received very well by the members.

The new location is much larger and the rent is very reasonable...OK, we don’t have to pay any rent! This helps our bottom line a lot.

I will keep everyone n the loop. Meanwhile, be kind to someone today and the kindness will be returned back to you ten fold.
