Passing Along Kitchen Traditions

It's cooking time at the Lucido household. The collage shows Nana Mary guiding her 13 year old granddaughter through the intricacies of making pasta for the family dinner. Francesca, a junior member of C. Colombo Lodge, has been baking alongside her grandmother since she was a very young girl. This time, nana directs the cooking and Francesca does it all from setting the water to boil to the final taste test. Follow Francesca as she:

Step #1 cuts the garlic

Step #2 pours the olive oil into the skillet

Step #3 breaks the pasta and puts it into boiling water

Step #4 uses tongs to check on the pasta

Step #5 drains the cooked pasta

Step #6 puts pasta into the serving bowl

Step #7 sautes the garlic in olive oil. Then Francesca adds the garlic along with olive oil, butter and cheese to the pasta.
