Buon Natale Greetings from the Officers and Members of the Anaheim Lodge, to all our Fraternal Lodges, and your families. We hope and pray that you all enjoy the Holidays and stay well.

It is with a sad heart that the Anaheim Lodge has lost a long time member. Dora Vorono passed away peacefully with family by her side, and went home to God and her family in heaven on October 31, 2023. Dora (Capparelli) Vorono was born on August 18, 1928, in a small mining town. McComas, West Virginia. She said life was sometimes difficult by they never knew it because of the love the family had. She was the 6th of 9 children. In High School she was a cheer leader. Dora met a local boy named Nick Vorono and fell in love and married. They had 2 sons Andrew and Nick. In the early 60's they moved to California to be closer to her siblings who had moved earlier. Dora was active in sports with her sons, on the Booster Club through all their school years. But sadly her husband Nick passed away at an early age, but Dora was a survivor, she focused on raising her sons and getting on with life. Her son Andrew served 20 years in the military and retired a Major. Her son Nick is a professional chef, who spent 10 years in South Africa in the Peach Corp working to bring clean water to isolated villages and educational programs to children. Dora's first priorities were her children, grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. They were her happiness and life. Even all her Nieces and Nephews made her happy.

Dora became a member of the Anaheim Lodge in 1964; she worked with Al Scali when she first came to California. Then she went to work for Lloyd's Bank in Westminster. From there she finally worked for the Naval Shipyard Credit Union in Long Beach. That is where she retired from in 1993.

Dora loved the Anaheim Lodge and was involved in every aspect she could be. She was our Treasurer and watched over the finances as if they were her own home finances, which is why she did a fantastic job for the Anaheim Lodge for many, many years.

Dear Sister Dora you will be truly missed by every one of the Anaheim Lodge members, your family, and the many friends you made through the years. You touched and made all these lives richer. Farewell until we meet again in heaven.

The Anaheim Lodge had their Fall Harvest Dinner on Saturday November 18th. It consisted of 3 different soups, Salad, Bread and of course Apple and Pumpkin pies. It's always so much fun to see old and new friends. The Anaheim Lodge is truly a family gathering when we are together.

We also asked for donations for our Sparks Of Love Toy Drive. Our President Mariann Aita will bring the toys to a local Fire Station for distribution to needy children.

December 16, 2023, is our next event. The Anaheim, Annual Christmas Party. Please look for the flier in the mail or call an officer of the Anaheim Lodge to attend. We would love to see you all there.

Always Remember we encourage you to attend and support our lodge... If you need a ride, call any officer and we will make arrangements for transportation. If you have Italian and non Italian friends who wish to come to our events, please bring them and see what a fun time we have and very friendly members. Our lodge has always been family & friends, oriented and we still encourage this standard in our lodge. We all want our Italian Heritage to continue for generations to come.

For more information please feel free to contact any of the officers from the Anaheim Lodge.

Also for Dates and Times of Meetings and Events if you need that information.

God Bless, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, to all those Serving and protecting our country and those who protect and service us here at home every day.

Arrivederci, and Stay Safe and Healthy until we all meet again.
