Greetings from Petaluma!

I usually write about my beautiful garden but tonight I am in my nightgown ready for bed and I remembered that I needed to get my article in. It’s midnight so hopefully I will have been able to get this in to the paper.

This pandemic never seems to end, so until it is over we cannot have our meetings as the Lucchesi Center is still closed. The Lodge is on hold and it looks as though there will be no Christmas Dinner or Crab Feed in the future. Even if they are able to open and have them I’m sure that people will be cautious in getting together.

Since President Ernie said he is feeling better, that he would continue on as President, if everyone wanted, and as long as he could get volunteers to help him. It seems that many members have stepped up and offered to help so he is willing to stay on.

President Ernie tried to see if our dues could be lowered, so he asked and was told it cannot be done as the money goes to the Grand Lodge for expenses, charities and running of the building in San Francisco. He is also looking into having a free dinner for all members whose dues are paid.

I don’t have much to report since we have not had any meetings. Please remember to follow the guidelines: wear your masks, no social gatherings, keep your distance and wash your hands often. This virus will not give up unless we all follow the rules.

Thank you Ernie, for all your stories and jokes that you send into the emails and members. At least you are trying to make members smile and take their mind off this pandemic for a little while.

Happy Birthday and Happy Anniversary to all celebrating. Get well wishes to any member who is ill.

Remember to call someone and let them know you care about them. There are a lot of lonely people out there. Pray for our troops, the homeless, victims of crimes, our Country and the world. Be nice to someone, you will always get it back in return.

Ciao Louise Vicino
