Flu season is here again … combine your shot with a COVID vaccination and reduce your worries.

Last month (October) we had our first get-together at Luna’s for salad and pizza; a good time was had just by meeting once again.

United Lodges of the San Joaquin meeting will be December 11 at the Hanford Historical Society building, so let Carol Watson know if you will be attending. Rides to Hanford can be arranged.

For our November meeting we are planning to meet again for a no-host meeting at Luna’s; stay tuned to your phone or mail for details; reservations will be required.

For our December 20 meeting, we have scheduled a no-host dinner at Andiamo’s Restaurante in Clovis, CA, for 6:00 PM; reservations will be required, and seating is limited.

Sporting events were serious business in the Roman Republic and the Empire; wrestlers that gouged out the eyes of their opponents would lose the contest by forfeiture. Hence, we get the old saying “it’s all fun and games until someone loses an eye”.
