February 2024 has arrived!

The month of love, dedication and commitment!

This February 14th has special significance for more than the love of a special person in your life.

In 2024, February 14th isn’t only Valentine’s Day’s, it is also Ash Wednesday, and the start of lent, one of the most holy days in the Christian calendar.

Along with showing the love, dedication and commitment to the special person in your life, and the family you have made together, we celebrate that love with those that day.

While we normally celebrate Valentine’s Day’s, eating and giving chocolates and flowers, also a grand meal, (mine would be a nice 16oz rare ribeye), this year is a little different because it’s also a day of dedication and commitment, to the most loving God, who sent his only begotten son, Jesus Christ to save us from our sins, as it is a day of fasting and that eating meat is forbidden. On that day we will also show the devotion and commitment During the 40 days of lent, as a sign of our commitment to him, we each choose one of the simple pleasures of life, stop from eating things like eating chocolate, ice cream or sweets, and even doing meaningless things that are a joy to do. 

We also can choose a more untraditional choice, like committing to helping at a food kitchen feeding the poor twice a week during lent!

So on Tuesday February 13th, eat all the steak, chicken, chocolate and sweets you want!
