Message From the 3rd Vice President

Just finished up with the 2024 Spring Grand Council meetings, held at the new home of Order Sons &  Daughters of Italy in America California Grand Lodge, at 9300 Madison Ave., Orangevale CA 95662.

To say it wasn’t a productive meeting would not do it justice! We had a lot of open and to the point, discussions on several major topics facing the Grand Lodge and more importantly the Filial Lodges, was discussed.

What I think was an important aspect, was the request, made by a few in attendance, for a more comprehensive and clearly understandable accounting of the complete sale transaction of the old building, a complete listing of how the monies were used for the purchase of the new building, the improvements done during our negotiations in the sale, and since we took possession.

The set up of our new home is coming along quite well. Everything we had in storage, has been moved, the temporary office cleaned out and closed.

Lori and Arlene have done a great job getting everything organized, some great looking furniture, desks and working stations, with a small kitchen, that’s just waiting to be completed. They have started the set up of a history room, that’s a work in progress! We have plenty of meeting space.

There is the possibility of another possible rental space, that with a little work will be available, however, no immediate plans yet, as the space is full of boxes and other stuff that still need to be sorted through!

Finally I’d like to thank our State First Vice President Mark Vaona for all the donated work he has provided, getting the building re-wired for the phones, internet, and security system. Mark also donated all of the new computers, all the needed hardware and he updated our server!
