Message From the 3rd Vice President

First, I would like to wish you all a Belated Buona Pasqua. Last month due to the Grand Council meeting on March 18th, due to time restraints, I could not get my March article in. The Grand Council meeting was all inclusive with much discussion. We are trying to meet at least a large criteria of needs so that when the final building is found and completed it will benefit all Lodges in California.

On April 15th, Ukiah Lodge held their Annual Polenta “Fun” Raiser, and it was fantastic! The polenta with meat sauce melted in our mouths. We all danced to Oldies like YMCA, That’s Amore, tunes from Perry Como and The Commadores and many more. President Donna and her wonderful cast of Paisanos out did themselves!

On April 16th, the newly combined Virgilio Lodge #2023 had their awesome ham, and pesto pasta dinner. I want to thank Ray Bini, newly elected President, and his wife Pam for everything they have done in working to combine the Virgilio and Beatrice Portinari Lodges.

The Shasta Lodge on April 28th celebrated their 43rd Anniversary. The theme was “I left my Heart in San Francisco.” They pulled out all the stops with braised short ribs, shrimp scampi and one of personal my favorites, pasta agio e olio. I pigged out on agio e olio! To top it off, Pat Karch Quartet performed with some of the old music that we all love.

The Reno Lodge Christopher Columbo #1534 had their monthly dinner on April 26th with a guest speaker after dinner, Mr. Joe Lanza. Everyone please set aside May 6th and join Londi and myself in Reno for their Annual Festa Primavera Dinner. I guarantee you will enjoy the evening and maybe win some cash!

I am looking forward to Sacramento’s Famous Bocce Tournament on Saturday, May 20th at East Portal Park in Sacramento, which is in their “Little Italy” area. We hope to be welcoming members from all the Lodges in Northern California for a fun time with fellow OSDIA members. Join us for great camaraderie, food, Bocce, and music.

June is convention month. Hope to see you all in Reno. If you are not a Delegate, come on up anyway and join us to observe just what happens at our Conventions.

Ciao 4 Now
