A Visit to the Italian Consulate

Recently, State President Arlene M. Nunziati and I attended a meeting of Italian organizations from the San Francisco Bay Area and Northern California, held at the beautifully renovated Italian Consulate in San Francisco.

The event was hosted by Consul General Sergio Strozzi, who welcomed the group and  spoke about INNOVIT, the Italian Innovation Center in San Francisco, which fosters ties between Italian and US ecosystems through events promoting joint technology, especially in Silicon Valley, as well as business, venture capital,  and culture that forms the bridge between both countries.  He then introduced the heads of the Istituto Italiano di Cultura, the consular Education Office, the Italian Trade Agency, and COMITES (Committee of Italians Abroad), who described their programs which promote the Bay Area and international endeavors.

Then, representatives from over twenty entities in turn described their club, what it does and its goals, and upcoming events.  This was followed by a lovely reception where participants networked and exchanged ideas to make ties between organizations stronger and to better help promote our Italian language, culture, and history.  It was a successful and informative evening!
