Hello All, By the time you receive this article we will have acknowledged, Halloween, Election Day, Veterans Day, and Thanksgiving Day. A lot to recognize in one month! I pray that all enjoyed each holiday and stayed safe and well!
It is hard to believe the year is almost over. Where did the time/year go??
Before we know it --- Christmas will be here and a new year 2021! Wow! 2021 will hopefully allow us to resume our meetings and events. What a life change!!
In the coming new year as we evaluate our Order’s membership, we need to examine some of the following items: We are losing members faster than we are replacing them! Closing lodges and not opening new ones! Are we connecting with our members, making a difference in their lives? If we continue to lose members and close Lodges at this rate, our organization will disappear in fewer than ten years.
Why did/do we join OSDIA? We need to share our enthusiasm and love of the organization with others. We are a part of a National organization, local members. Action required within the lodge, families, community, and the world.
We know this has been a difficult time for all of us personally and in our Lodges. Thanks for our adventurous in maneuvering through the age of technology to continue to hold our lodges meetings.
Congratulations to Mario Guardi. He is a member of the Renaissance Lodge and on every Tuesday at 6-8pm he holds a “Meetup meeting” for members to attend. They practice social distancing and of course wear masks playing the Italian card game “Scopa” and have a little fun too. Nice way of keeping members active in lodge.
Let us all make every effort to continue to build and strengthen our Order Sons & Daughters of Italy in the coming new year 2021!
Sincere best wishes for a Blessed Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year!
Fraternally yours
