A Message From the 1st Vice President

Sisters and Brothers:

Staying inside and keeping socially distant is sure hard on those of us that love to hug and stay close. I hope this will soon be a thing of the past and we can go back to living normal lives.

I do not know what normal will be in the future. I will never again take for granted our ability to interact, being able to be close to others, share time in our meetings and activities.

I want to let you know that your Grand Council has had a conference call and a webinar to discuss the business of the Grand Lodge. If you are not already aware, the 2020 Convention has been canceled. Our Recording Secretary, Lori, will send the information to the Lodge Presidents and Delegates regarding information that must be addressed at this time.

The Hanford Lodge had a Webinar for their April meeting. President Louise allowed me to sit in and I was impressed with those that attended. Unfortunately, they voted not to do it again and just postpone meetings until we can meet in person.

I hope you are reaching out to those members that are alone. It is harder to stay in when you are alone.

I am certainly spending a lot of time cleaning my house. When this is over, I will have the cleanest house on the block. Speaking of my neighborhood, we are sitting in the street in front of our houses during happy hour and sharing a drink (whatever is in our plastic cups) and a joke or two. It is fun to interact even at that distance.

Please stay safe until we can be together again.

Thank you for all you do to keep our Order strong.
