Message from the 1st Vice President

Sisters and Brothers:

Sitting here writing my article I am thinking that we should all be getting ready for the 84th California Grand Convention. I may be wrong, but I don’t believe we have missed a convention in that many years. I will miss the fraternity but know that when we have our 85th Convention next year it will be a major celebration. Some of us are still out working or working from home.

Some of us wish we were working to get away from the kitchen refrigerator. I know I may have to get a size bigger in my clothes if I don’t find something else to do besides cooking and baking!

I have enjoyed speaking with my Lodge members and Grand Lodge Sisters and Brothers on the phone. I am trying to reach out to Lodge Presidents here in the North to check on them and their Lodge members.

Just a quick note. A moment in the history of Italy. June 2nd is Republic Day. Like our Independence Day, Italians celebrate the day in 1946 that they voted in favor of the republican form of government. Following World War II, a vote was held June 2 and 3 to determine if Italy should follow a monarchy or republic form of government. The majority voted for the republic and a few years later, June 2 was declared a holiday as the day the Italian Republic, was created.

Please stay safe until we can be together again.

Thank you for all you do to keep our Order strong.

Till next month
Fraternally
Barbara
