C. Colombo Lodge Celebrates 100th Anniversary

C. Colombo Lodge #1315 is located in Antioch and recently celebrated its 100th anniversary as a chapter of the Grand Lodge of California. It is one of the longest running lodges of the California jurisdiction. To mark the occasion of their 100th anniversary, a gala dinner-dance was held at the lodge meeting site, the American Legion Hall of Antioch. Heading the list of honored guests was State President Arlene Nunziati. Other distinguished guests at the gala event were Past National President Vera Ferrara Girolami and husband Al. She was joined by the former Presidents of the Grand Lodge Maria Fassio Pignati and husband Ugo, Lynn Lawrence Murphy and husband Bill. The Second State Vice President Louie Lodi , State Trustee Central Tina Sparlin, State Co-Chair Garibaldi Meucci Museum Joy Bruno, and former Lodge Deputy Joe Simone were also special guests at the festivities.

Former Grand Lodge Queen and current State Chair of Medical Charities Mary Lucido acted as Mistress of Ceremonies for the evening event. She called upon State President Arlene Nunziati who presented a proclamation from the Grand Lodge of California to honor the 100th anniversary. A congratulatory tribute from the Supreme Lodge to mark the century of active service of C. Colombo Lodge was also presented to Lodge President Carol Esposito. Past President of C. Colombo Lodge Edna Esposito offered a history of the lodge from its founding in 1924.

The event was chaired by Lodge President Carol Esposito. She was aided by committee members: Nancy Broder, Paulette Lagana, Cathy Nelson, Katy Castro, Mary Lucido, Lisa Belleci-Navarro and Edna Esposito.  Parking duties were handled by Ethan Esposito and his pal, Bobby

The theme for the evening was a Roaring 20’s Party. Flapper costumes prevailed as the music got the guests up to join the conga line and “move to the grove” of rock ’n’ roll tunes. A buffet dinner was prepared by the Zandenella Catering Service. Wine was on every table throughout the event and added to the gaiety of the crowd.
