Greetings! So much has gone on since my first message which followed our State Convention. The National Convention in Orlando, Florida was well attended as I was joined by our National Delegates and California National Officers. We accomplished a lot in a week, even under the hot and humid conditions, as we maintained full work days beginning that Wednesday morning. You will be hearing from all of the State Delegates and National Officers from California in the upcoming issues of the Il Leone of the current events. The goal is to share with all of you the actions and accomplishments of all those involved.

Hard to believe that summer is coming to a close, my granddaughters are back in school already. We have been very fortunate in the Bay Area with this year’s mild summer weather. Last week I spent most of the week in Florida at the National Convention and Florida’s weather was hot and humid!
Thank you to the Lodge Presidents who attended the 1st Lodge President Zoom Meeting that was held in July. The three area Vice Presidents will be holding these Zoom Meetings on the 4th Thursday of each month. We have a very simple agenda, where we spend the first 10
Hope you are staying cool during these warm summer months.
It has been a busy personal month for me, but it didn’t stop me from attending a few things.
July 20th, I attended the Bob Moresco Memorial BBQ in Watsonville. What a great turnout of support. We had food, live music, a raffle and great fun socializing. I won a raffle prize to a
September heralds the end of Summer, and many Lodges that were dark in July and August are getting together again. I hope everyone enjoyed the Labor Day Holiday, and had fun with friends and family. The two Trustees of the South and myself have been planning to reach out to each Southern Lodge President to arrange an Official Visit before the end of the calendar year. We are also recruiting State Deputies for each Lodge.
I want to thank State Financial

I wanted to take a moment and thank
Roma Lodge held its Junior Member meeting on Sunday, August 3rd. It was one of the largest meetings of the year with nearly 75 members and guests in attendance. Over 30 junior members attended, conducted the meeting and were treated to a special BBQ and back-to-school items. All lodges need to ask themselves, who do we have coming up to replace us when we are gone? If you don’t have a good junior member program your lodge may someday be gone.!
Over 30 Roma Lodge junior members received
Italian American heritage night at the Humboldt Crabs baseball game on July 26th resulted in an exciting Crabs victory over the Medford Oregon Rogues and a lot of fun for Sons and Daughters of Italy members and Italophiles in attendance.

As my first official message as State President, it has been a very busy two weeks. My first official function will be attending the Watsonville picnic with our Immediate Past President, Arlene Nunziati, a quick network upgrade for the Pignati’s and then a stop at the bank to transfer the signers on the accounts. Then to the Grand Lodge office to conduct signing duties and home on Tuesday. After this ‘slow week’ I will begin preparing for the National Convention in Orlando Florida which I look forward
Thank you to all the Grand Lodge Officers that have served over the last 2 years; it has been a pleasure working with you as the CAO of the Sons of Italy Western Foundation. I have served two terms as the Foundation CAO and am grateful for the work of the Foundation Trustees, Committee Chairs and Grand Lodge Officers. The most important thank you goes out to our individual donors and lodges that continue to support the charitable and educational
