OSIACA News
Hello from Redding,
It has been a busy few months for Shasta Lodge. In August we held a drive thru spaghetti dinner, a “Raise the Roof” undraiser as a joint effort with our landlords the Redding Grange. Our building needs a new roof and we will have a few more fundraisers in the next year so we can complete the work next summer. We served close to 400 dinners in just a few hours.
Then in September we held our annual Paesano Days. We certainly appreciated the nice article about Paesano Days that State Vice President: Louie Lodi, wrote for the October Il Leone. Louie Lodi was there with Londi. Our past State Trustee of the North, Rich Luzzi, joined us from Washington state with Judy, and our past State Trustee of the North, Joy Bruno, from the Northern Solano Lodge joined us with several friends from her lodge. We were also joined by the President of the Chico Lodge, Tony George and other members who played in the bocce tournament. And last but certainly not least our State Deputy John Jefsen and his lovely wife Lorna. Many thanks to our Chair John Tasello. What a great event John. And thanks to all the members and friends who helped.
At our General Meeting in October we welcomed six new members into our lodge. Melanie Cich, Teresa Longsworth, Michael Moore, Paul “Wayne” Facca, Gary Memeo, and Eathen Watson. We are happy our ranks are growing.
Our next big dinner will be on November 11th for our annual Thanksgiving Memorial dinner. We honor all of our deceased members in a nice ceremony, and share in a wonderful dinner cooked for the members by our council. And all the money raised goes into our scholarship fund. We expect a large crowd this year. Then, on to our Christmas catering events, and our annual cookie exchange in December.
We wish you all a fun Halloween and a Happy Thanksgiving.
Ciao
