OSIACA News
Hello Brothers and Sisters!
I would like to introduce myself to you. I am your new Third State Vice President Adam Alan Spano, (I use my middle name Alan). My family came from Montallegro Sicily, and from the Naples area before immigrating to the United States. I was born in Ithaca NY, December 30, 1957, arriving in Visalia California on Halloween day, 1962.
For 40+ years, I’ve been married to the most beautiful woman alive, Vera Gale, we had the great pleasure of raising two exceptional children. Our son Timothy, a 2015 Purdue University graduate, now a production manager at the Quaker Oats plant in Indiana. Our Jessica, is a former Grand Lodge of California Miss Italy Queen, and is now a 2nd grade schoolteacher, along with being the mother to the great joys of our lives… our 3 grandchildren, Beau 13, Layla 7, and Clayton almost 4!
Early one evening in 1987 my mom asked me to take her to the local Sons of Italy Lodge so she could help out with the catering. I did what any good Italian son does… I ended up staying and helping out. The rest as they say is history!
I have been a member of our Enrico Caruso Lodge #1463 in Visalia as you can guess since 1987! I started as a guard in my Lodge, I then took on the position of Vice President moving up to President, Immediate Past President and am currently filling the position of Vice President once again. Through all of this I have been a delegate to our Grand Lodge and attended conventions since 1988.
I am proud to say I am holding my first state office and I want to know what is important to all members with concerns, suggestions and ideas, not just the members in my central district, however, everyone. I look forward to having open discussions on any subject or situation that arises, feel free to email me I am here for you.
