A Message from the State 2nd Vice President

Dear brothers and sisters in OSDIA, in these days, our world seems rife with division, envy, and hatred. Patience, compassion, understanding seem scarce, and when they do appear, seem too often overwhelmed with knee-jerk negativity to have much impact.

As I have written in my past articles, I have focused on building Membership, offering constructive ideas, and setting specific goals. As we all know, building membership requires constant solutions and implementation for the future of OSDIA.

Membership and Leadership go hand in hand. My goal is to share ways we can reach out to members with whom we have not communicated for a long period of time. I feel it is important that we reach out to our senior members who paved the way for our great organization. Let us not forget our junior members who will one day carry on the legacy of OSDIA.

We must be the organization in which every Italian American wants to be involved. Through our works and our actions, we spread the word in our communities. Think outside the box for new ways to share with others in our communities. We are all in this together within our organization, and we need to share those ideas to further our involvement in building membership.

I am passionate about our organization and spreading the good news about us to others.

Friendliness, warmth, welcome, kindness, openness, cordiality, generosity, and love are words that mean hospitality. These words should describe our actions in our lodges.

“Let all you do be done with love for the Order Sons and Daughters in America with kindness, understanding, and gentleness”.

I think Mother Teresa said it perfectly. “There are no great things, only small things done with great love”
